Abstract
Upconversion of 793 nm excitation in Er3+-Tm3+-codoped fluorozirconate glasses has been studied. The dependence of the green emission intensity on the pump power (Pex) was ranged between (Pex)2 and (Pex)3. The 4S3/2 energy level of Er3+ ion was possibly populated by a three photon absorption of 1.48 µm emission from the 3F4 → 3H4 transition on Tm3+ ion as well as by a two photon absorption of the 793 nm laser pumping line.
