Abstract

We evaluated the dispersion tolerance of 10 Gb/s MI-DFB lasers by computer waveform simulations and SMF transmission experiments. We find this to be 1260 ps/nm, which is comparable to that of a Mach-Zehnder LiNbO3 optical modulator.
