Study on Packet Length in a Tunable Duplex Integrated Light Source for WDM Packet Switching

Abstract

The minimum allowable packet length that can be sent by a tunable duplex integrated light source has been studied. It is shown that the packet length, which is limited by the wavelength-drift time of DBR-LDs, can be significantly reduced by using integrated thermal drift compensators.
