All-Optical Inverter using Negative Nonlinear Absorption Effect

Abstract

An all-optical inverter was derived from the negative nonlinear absorption effect which had a negative input-output characteristic. It was suggested that this effect took place since an excited state absorption whose absorbance was more than 1.
