The year 1995 was the 30th anniversary of opening the door for the communication digitalization in Japan; First was the PCM-24 system and this was followed then by the coaxial cable systems. Digitalization of exchange systems commenced in 1982. The dramatical extension of the digitalization provided by fiber-optic systems has resulted in the formation of current basic communication infrastructure.
