Abstract
We report a 1 Tb/s (40 Gb/s×25 channel) dense WDM quasi-DM soliton transmission over 1,500 km with the use of a dispersion-managed single-mode fiber. The spectral efficiency was as high as 0.4 b/s/Hz. The transmission line comprised conventional 1.3 µm single-mode fibers and dispersion compensating fibers with dispersion slope compensation and a repeater span of 50 km.
