Abstract

A D-shaped 7-core fibre is used for curvature sensing with a Brillouin Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry setup. The preferential bending of the D-shaped fibre, com- pensates for its twist, eliminating the need for manually correcting the fibre’s position.
