Combining FBG and thin-core interferometers to analyse phase-transitions in binary fluids

Abstract

We demonstrate monitoring of phase-transitions in binary liquid mixtures by combining a fiber Bragg grating and a thin-core fiber interferometer. Temperature and refractive index sensing enable direct measurements of concentration changes below the melting point.
