Development of Low-Cost SDH-BOTDR using Directly Modulated Laser

Abstract

We developed a low-cost self-delayed homodyne BOTDR by employing directly modulated DFB-LD. A 1 km distributed measurement with a 1 m spatial resolution was successfully demonstrated within 1 s by compensating SPM.
