Abstract

During the Optical Fabrication and Testing meeting in Tucson, I presented a thirty minute video-tape which took the viewers on a short tour of three independently owned optics shops located in Tucson. The participants at the meeting had an opportunity to tour first-hand the large optics shops at Kitt Peak National Observatory and at the Optical Sciences Center., The video-tape presentation was done to show that these two large shops are not the only places where optics, particularly large optics, are made in Tucson. Although the shops I visited are not the only ones in Tucson, they are the shops where much of the large optics are made.
