Mapping low frequency vibrational spectra of ssDNA using DNH optical trap

Abstract

Low frequency resonant acoustic modes of ssDNA lying in the sub-100 GHz range are excited and detected using a double nanohole (DNH) optical trap. The technique shows potential for sequencing and characterization of DNA.
