Homodyne Time-Domain Acousto-Optics Imaging for High SNR

Abstract

We introduce a simple optical homodyne setup to perform time-domain Acousto-Optics imaging using a photodiode. Our method introduces an SNR gain of over a 4-fold compared to a system based on a photomultiplier tube.
