VAS-E: Inflight Evaluation of an Atmospheric Sounder on a Geostationary Satellite

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Soundings from a geostationary platform are compared with soundings from radiosondes, ground based microwave (profiler) data, and polar orbiting satellites. Discrepancies related to differences in the measurement technique are studied. Methods of amalgamating these different observation types are discussed.
