Unleashing the Optical Fiber Transmission Bandwidth: From Theory to Experiments

Abstract

Ultra-wideband transmission leads to non-negligible inter-channel stimulated Raman scattering (ISRS) effect degrading the system quality of transmission (QoT). In this study, it is shown that the transceiver noise mitigates the ISRS effect for short and metro networks.
