Femtosecond Transient Anisotropy in the Absorption Saturation of GaAs

Abstract

Ultrafast linear dichroism induced by femtosecond pulses near the band-edge of GaAs has been observed. The anisotropy of carrier momentum distribution was found to decay in 190 fs.
