Abstract

Recently much attention has been payed to carrier dynamics in staggered type-II multiple quantum well structures. In this system, photoexcited electrons in well layer Γ state are rapidly scattered into X state in barrier layer. We and several authors have measued these interlayer scattering times with femtosecond pump-and-probe technique using white light continuum1-3). In order to understand the detail of carrier relaxation in staggered type-II multiple quantum well structures, we have explored the degenerate four wave mixing experiment.
