Abstract
In recent years, ultrafast relaxation processes of excitons in solids have been widely studied with the development of femtosecond lasers and measuring technique. With a coherent transient spectroscopy we can measure not only the optical dephasing of excited states but also quantum beats among some states in multilevel systems. Interference beats were observed with a degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) for atomic Rb vapor[1]. However, such a coherent transient phenomenon has not been observed, to author's knowledge, for semiconductors.
