Separating the direct and cascaded contributions to two-dimensional Raman signals using phase-sensitive detection

Abstract

We demonstrate a method of phase-sensitive detection for separating the direct and the cascaded contributions to fifth-order 2-D Raman spectroscopy. The phase of an intrinsic local oscillator is cycled to distinguish the two components that are radiated in quadrature to each other.
