Abstract

The collaboration with Rayleigh of Mrs. E. M. Sidgwick, his sister-in-law, a feminist and educator (and also the sister of British Prime Minister Arthur Balfour) is discussed. The joint studies included some on light, some on capillarity, and the important studies on the electrical units (volt, ohm, and ampere).
