Correcting the Record

Published papers constitute the scientific record.  Everyone who takes part in the publication process has a responsibility to maintain the integrity of that record.  For you, as an author, that means publishing corrections to earlier work when appropriate.  There are several ways to do that depending on the circumstances.  This is discussed in more detail in section 13, Correcting the Literature.
