Potential Next Steps

After you have reviewed the comments and identified the reasons for rejection, you may feel that some or all of them can be rebutted or addressed by a revision of your manuscript.  You’ll need to consider what steps to take, if any, with your manuscript. Possible options are outlined in the next few pages, including:

• Appeal the decision
• Take advantage of a transfer option
• Submit without revision to another journal
• Revise and resubmit to the same journal
• Revise and resubmit to another journal
• Find an alternative, non-journal outlet for your work
