Abstract
It is well known that Ge-doped optical fibers subjected to intense IR illumination at 1.06 μm can exhibit a second harmonic generation efficiency that grows in time. Here we describe the observation that frequency doubling fibers can also generate a large number of visible spectral peaks, and discuss a mechanism that possibly explains the phenomenon.
