Abstract

Electronically tunable spectral filters have been of considerable interest for optical sensor and signal processing applications. The device which could most closely provide this function has been the acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF). The AOTF, using collinear [1] and noncollinear [2] interaction geometry have been developed that demonstrated wide tuning range, high spectral resolution and large angular apertures.
