Abstract

Quasi-phase-matched concept of frequency conversion was introduced for collinear geometry, with pump propagating normal to layers in periodic structures. Some useful deviations from this case were pointed out recently.1 Here an alternative geometry is proposed: with pump propagating nearly along the layers.
