Abstract

Stimulated Brillioun Scattering (SBS) is a well -known nonlinear optical effect for realizing phase conjugating mirrors (PCMs). Usual SBS -mirrors show an appreciable reflectivity for light powers much larger than 1 kW. Decreasing this so-called SBS-threshold to less then 100 W was achieved by using waveguiding structures such as optical fibers or capillaries.
