Strong quantum mechanical squeezing based on nonlinear dispersive loss in semiconductor lasers

Abstract

We predict that a combination of frequency-dependent outcoupling and optical non-linearity in semiconductor lasers can create sharply intensity-dependent loss that squeezes inten-sity noise far below the shot noise limit.
