Abstract
We have studied stochastic jumps in a laser-excited fluorescence emitted by a single molecule having double well potentials (DWP) in ground and excited electronic states. This molecule model is rather general and applicable to a variety of condensed-matter, chemical and biological systems, probed by fluorescence excitation. The specific examples considered are (i) a single guest chromophore molecule strongly coupled to a nearby single asymmetric structural two-level system (TLS) in embedding amorphous host matrix and (ii) a single point defect in crystalline solids whose DWP’s are due to existence of two possible configurations of a defect.
