Dynamics of a Class B Bidirectional Ring Laser: Linear and Nonlinear Scattering Competition and Cavity Nonreciprocity Effect

Abstract

Competition of two instability mechanisms results in chaotic pulsations and occurrence of bistability in a bidirectional ring laser. Phase non-reciprocity affects the location of bifurcation boundaries and the frequency dynamics.
