Effects of array geometry on the supermodes of two-dimensional vertical-cavity semiconductor laser arrays

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We report experimental measurements of two-dimensional spatial lasing supermodes in phase-locked vertical-cavity semiconductor laser arrays. The phase locking was achieved by patterning the reflectivity of the back laser mirror. The dependence of the modal behavior on the array geometry for varius configurations is presented.
