Abstract
Write-once optical disks storing digital data have been on the market for a decade.1),2) Increasing data capacity has been strongly required for the next generation. To meet this demand, a new phase-change optical disk with Sn-Sb-Se recording film and Sb-Bi reflective film on a polycarbonate substrate was developed. In this paper, we report fundamental characteristics of these films and write/read experiments of the disk using a 690-nm-wavelength diode laser.
