Abstract

In magneto-optical (MO) disks, the magnetically induced super-resolution (MSR) readout method using an in-plane magnetization layer has a great advantage of high density(1). In order to improve recording characteristics, a new medium structure was developed. Preparing an intermediate layer between the readout layer and the recording layer, we have achieved recording with a weak magnetic field and direct overwriting by a magnetic field modulation method.
