Abstract

A Light Angular Deflector (LAD) is a promising device for optical inter-connection between stacked boards on which optoelectronic integrated circuits and optical parallel signal processing units are mounted. From the relationship between optical confinement factor and Quantum Confinement Stark Effect, an optimized grating pitch of LAD have been calculated and a wider deflecting LAD has obtained.
