Progress of Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers

Abstract

In this paper, we review the progress of surface emitting lasers ranging 1.55 to 0.4 µm by considering their materials, thresholds, output power, efficiencies, polarizations, modulations, and so on. Then we discuss on some possible applications.
