Self-Homodyne Coherent Systems for Short-Reach Optical Interconnects

Abstract

Self-homodyne coherent detection scheme is promising for short-reach optical interconnect for its significantly reduced complexity and compatibility with legacy coherent infrastructure without sacrificing spectral efficiency. Solutions towards practical use are presented here with future perspectives.
