Ultrahigh refractive index sensitivity with a reflective fibre optic microcavity in-line interferometer

Abstract

We report the study of a reflective micro in-line Mach-Zehnder fibre optic interferometer. Sensitivities to surrounding refractive index varying from -12950 to -23000 nm/r.i.u. were obtained for the micro-fibre optic dip SRI sensor.
