Abstract

The expressions for the reflectance and transmittance of light from a multilayer thin-film stack are usually derived for a non-absorbing incidence medium.1 This paper presents the results for the case that the incidence medium is absorbing, extending previous results for an interface between non-absorbing media,2 and the multilayer case treated at normal incidence.3
