Abstract

Before manufacturing a multilayer coating, it is important to know how the coating performance (e.g., reflectance, transmittance, etc.) will be affected by manufacturing errors. If the performance is very sensitive, it may mean that the coating is not manufacturable or that it will need to be manufactured using a more accurate process. A survey of various methods is given by Macleod [1] and Liddell [2].
