Generation of temporally shaped Terahertz (THz) pulses from Zinc telluride (ZnTe) crystal using tunable femtosecond laser wavelengths

Abstract

The shaped THz waveforms have been generated from ZnTe crystal with 140 fs laser pulses within the tuning range of 740 – 840 nm wavelengths. THz radiation is detected using electro-optic sampling technique. The central frequency of emitted THz radiation is shifting towards the lower frequency side as incident laser wavelength increases.
