Abstract
Germanium vacancy (GeV) colour centres were formed in nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) films grown on Ge substrates. Photoluminescence measurements reveal how the morphology of NCD surface correlates with emission properties of GeV colour centres. Facetted films showed sharp and intense emission, whereas the cauliflower morphology resulted in weak emissions.
