High-sensitivity magnetic field sensing using a compact diamond nitrogen vacancy magnetometer

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We realize a practical device design for nitrogen vacancy (NV) magnetometry outside of a laboratory setting. Using an off-the-shelf diamond with cut sides, a compact optics geometry was implemented for fitting all sensing equipment inside of an 11x7x7cm box, reaching a sensitivity of 7nT/sqrt(Hz).
