Abstract
We describe a straightforward nano fabrication technique for producing elements of atom optics, which has been used to make diffraction gratings, single and double slits, and zone plates. Data from the diffraction of sodium have been analyzed to determine the ratio of grating bar width to grating period. Three 400-nm period gratings have been used to make a white-fringe atom interferometer,2 and experiments under way with this device are discussed.
