3. Journal Selection

Indexing

Indexing

You would like your research to be discoverable and read by others, and readers often find relevant articles by using indexing sites and databases. When selecting a journal, it is important to consider where your content will be available other than the journal website or issue:

  • Is the journal indexed in the major services (e.g.:  PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus), which will increase discoverability?
  • Is there another particular indexer or database used in your specific field?
    • If so, make sure that the journal is indexed there or will allow the content to be deposited there.

Optica Publishing Group journals are indexed by Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google, and the US Library of Congress among others.
