Check Your Funder's Requirements

Depending on your research funding, you may be required to comply with public access mandates and share your publications. Consider the following points when selecting a journal:

• Does the journal make the content freely available within a timeframe that will comply with the funding mandates that apply to your work?
• Does the funder of your research require deposition of the accepted manuscript to a repository such as PubMed or PubMed Central, or an institutional repository?
  • If yes, will the journal make the deposit on your behalf, or will you need to make the deposit?

Optica Publishing Group journals enable you to Comply with Funder Mandates via immediate open access of the version of record with a CC BY license or via Green open access options and self-archiving of the accepted manuscript after a 12-month embargo. In addition, articles in Biomedical Optics Express are automatically deposited to Pubmed Central, as are articles from authors who indicate they are funded by Wellcome Trust. Articles from authors who indicate they have a funder that participates in CHORUS are automatically submitted to CHORUS.
