Results and Discussion

Discussing Your Results

Results and Discussion sections present and examine the research results, respectively. The results should include a brief summary of the data presented in the figures and tables (see figures and tables section for more information).  The discussion section should present a concise interpretation of the data but should not repeat information already presented in the results section. Whilst some journals publish them as separate sections, results and discussion are often combined into one section, so that readers can consider the results and their interpretation together.
